Can`t send post.

I tried to send a post,with a quote, today but all I was getting was a notice saying that this message was to short and that I was asked to add just one more caracter. This I did,in fact I added more words to the missive. I ended up with 35 words not including the quote,but I still couldn`t send it----why?
