I am having a lot trouble with Outlook 2007 shutting down when I take any
other action such as switching to MS Word or Excel or my desktop. The main
outlook screen shuts down but any email I have open will remain open. It can
be very annoying especially when you are waiting for search results to
complete some correspondence in Word. This problem only started about 3
months ago for no apparent reason. The edition of Outlook 2007 I have is
(12.0 6514 5000) SP2MSO (12.0 6425 1000). Any help would be very welcome. I
want to keep out look open when the computer is on as I use it for my
calender as well as mail

Are you absolutely SURE Outlook is shutting down and not minimizing to the
Systray?

If any mail window remains open Outlook is not shutting down

Click on the Outlook icon in your tray - is hide when minimized enabled?
