Hi, can anyone help with this problem please re a bug that is in Front Page
2000 and subsequent release to and including 2003.

Problem:
Multilevel 'picture-bulleted' lists ----- Loss of picture source in html
page after doing a page html 'Find and Replace' to update list item inserted
hyperlinks.

More Detail:
On Front Page created Multilevel-collapsible-outline-lists using pictures as
bullets the list works absolutely perfect until one has need to do a 'Find
and Replace' on the list page to, for example, change a series of inserted
hyperlinks within the list to a different server (e.g. Find:_ http://Cnotes4
Replace:- http://Dnotes4).
The replace is perfect re the links being changed but on viewing in web
browser
the picture bullets are missing and just show as either a round circle
outline or a square solid black bullet.
The odd thing is that in Front Page ‘Normal’ or ‘Preview’ the picture
bullets show okay.

So far I have two ‘circumventions’, though both are not satisfactory as are
time consuming on several large multiple level lists:-

1) update links in ‘Normal’ text view and edit each hyperlink individually
without using ‘Find and Replace’ in html mode .

2) after ‘Find and Replace’ in html mode and save page, on reopen in each
level of list add an extra list item then delete, closing page requests save.
Upon opening page in Web browser the picture bullets are back!

Any help appreciated.

Thanks Zelenium.

Sounds like your picture is also using the other path & your S&R is replacing the path to the picture

Stefan, Hi
thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately not so, the pictures (one is a
yellow windows type folder gif image the other is an 'L' connector gif image)
are in the same web page folder as the page with the list.

All the picture image source designations remain unchanged and perfect in
html view. On adding an item to list (i.e. pressing enter at end of a
bulleted row in FP 'page Normal view' and resaving page it doesn't ask for
the images to be resaved nor after if the folder/file view refreshed are the
pictures file dates/times changed.
Neither are the Find/Replace Links server addresses connected with the
server address of FP web with the page that has the list.
I've pasted in the code from just one small section of the mutilevel list
that has the image source designation that doesn't change.

<ul msimagelist imagesrc="Folder.gif">
<li><font size="3" face="Verdana" color="#000000">CNC/POL
: CNC Policies Manual.</font>
<ul dynamicoutline msimagelist imagesrc="Connect.gif">

Its a very odd one that was reported years ago to Microsoft in FP 2000,
never fixed, still present in FP 2003 and I have had the same problem in
several different Companies ---- i.e. different webs/servers/PC's etc.
So far managed with one of the 2 circumventions I mentioned but now dealing
with a big list with several hundred entries and with 5 copies with Network
links to 5 different 'notes-Domino servers' -- so a bit of a headache re
size.

Best Rgds Brian (Zelenium)
