How can I show appointments in my time zone in Outlook 2007?

In outlook 2007, I would like to see appointments in my time zone, not
the time zone of the sender.
The calendar view works as expected.
However, when I open an appointment (for example, by double-clicking),
the appointment is shown in the time zone of the sender. There is a
time zones button up in the Options section of the ribbon, but it is
already selected (I think selected, it's orange), and clicking on it
has no effect.
I do show two time zones in my calendar view, but that doesn't seem to
affect this behavior.
Thanks,
Bob
