Can shading be removed from PPT 2002 slides

Hello,
All the master slides in PowerPoint 2002 have right-handed shading. Is there
a way to remove it or create a new master slide without it?

My PowerPoints are converted HTML in my online learning platform (eCollege)
and the shading becomes wide black lines...I need them GONE!
