I would like to know if it is possible to set up a hyperlink (action button)
to direct my presentation to another system that is running in the
background. I have tried all the obvious routes but can only use 'Hyperlink
to next slide' or 'Run Program' on the basis that I log into the system each
time I press the link.

I just want to link to take me into the program that is already running so I
don't have to log in again or cancel any warning mesages that might appear as
a result of this.

If you have version 2003 / 2007 you could try Ctrl + T which should bring up
the taskbar and enable you to swap running programmes. I don't think this
works before 2003 so if you have an earlier version try Alt + Tab. AFAIK you
cant do this with a link but I could be wrong

Before going further, if you are trying to call a program (running or not)
from within PowerPoint you will always get the warning message.
