How can I set Outlook 2007 to use the proxy server of my instituti

We at our institution are using a proxy server (no ms exchange server). How
can I configure outlook 2007 to use the proxy for pop3 and smtp? Right now it
gives an error if i try to download mail from my gmail account!

If it is the same proxy server as you use for Internet Explorer you don't
have to configure anything else. Check with the institution if it actually
allows you to use the POP3 and SMTP protocol and Gmail connections.

's Computer Specifications

The proxy server for http, ftp etc is different than the one used to route
pop3 based requests....
