can send but not recieve e-mail

's Computer Specifications

I recently removed office xp microsoft office and am now using windows mail
but i cannot recieve e-mails but can send them.my settings look the same any
ideas,,,my os is vista

Any error message when you try to receive?
Does it go through the motions of connecting to the server?
What happens when you send an email to yourself?
Which antivirus?
