Hi Lakewood,
Even when you get this sorted as Terry described, you should
understand that what you're doing isn't really "deleting" the selected
text -- you're *replacing* it with a space character. You then have an
unnecessary space character in the document. It would be better to
select text and press the Delete key -- that's what it's for.
