You could try using a more conventional newsreader like Thunderbird or
Outlook Express. I see you are using the web interface and I've only
heard, but I've heard that its very poor. And most people complain they
can't see responses. Or let me say that a lot of complaints have been
popping up lately. So it's probably not you. groups.google does a
pretty good job of searching when I used it however.

If you use one of the above readers, its just like reading email. Send
and receive, and you can also sort by subject and threads, rather than
by date. And its easy (with thunderbird) to search for a user login
(you) or a subject.

If you don't have an ISP with a news server, use msnews.microsoft.com
and no login is needed.

This isn't a forum; it's a newsgroup. The reason you're having such
problems is that you are using the awful web interface to read this
newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most error-prone method there
is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook
Express, which comes with Windows XP, or Windows Mail, which comes
with Vista. See
