Can I run a built-in Outlook button

Is it possible to "click" on an Outlook button using VBA?

e.g. can I get VBA to click on the Send button of an e-mail instead of using
oMailItem.Send.

(I am hoping to use this to Send e-mail items and still get the Spell on
Send to work).
