I was running a Win2000 server as a file server. The server has 2
harddisks. One is for the system and the other is for data. I have created
one user and make this user account has RXWD right to all data on this data
harddisk.

However, the system harddisk was out of order few weeks ago. It seemed that
it is caused by hardware problem, it cannot startup anymore. Therefore, I
installed the Win2000 to a new harddisk in order to replace this broken
harddisk. I created the same user account in this new system. However, the
system didn't allow me to access any file on the data harddisk.

Can anyone help me? All data in the data harddisk is valuable to me!!!

Please help.

Open disk manager and sign the old drive which should be displayed there.

After that should be ok. If not post your error.
