Hi,
I have apparently tripped over a Win XP bug and would like to report it so
Microsoft can fix it. What's the best means of accomplishing that?

It's not a security issue.

Thanks!
Sue

Are you sure it hasn't already been covered? Replication by others is
usually required, and the folks here can usually uncover an existing fix.

Bob,
the bug is that Windows does not report the size of removable media and free
space (for DVD drives and USB drives) without right clicking on properties.
and even then, DVD info is not correct. I think it is easy to replicate.
Please let me know.
Thanks!
Sue

I recall that issue being discussed awhile (at least months) back in
these news groups.

Isn't this an artifact of the CDFS file system? If I remember correctly,
that was the conclusion of the last thread on this subject..

In case you've not noticed, MS released XP over five years ago and is
now actively pushing its replacement.

Bug reports for XP - real, or imagined - will most likely not get
replies or fixes unless they are security-related.

part of that is that it exhibits the same behavior as the floppy drives.

Are you serious? MS and Security has never been/is not/will never be
compatible.
