I used to be able to copy tasks in Outlook 2003, because I do the same tasks
for different categories (I have different events as categories, so I do the
same tasks over and over, but they aren't recurring)

But it seems that I can't copy or duplicate tasks in Outlook 2007...does
anyone have a suggestion for this?

Just drag the item with a right click to a folder, then choose Copy.

Umm, that didn't really answer my question. I am talking about dealing with
tasks in Outlook 2007, and I want to copy them from one category to another,
(for example, I have a series of duties that I do for each event we have, and
I want to duplicate the tasks for each event (category), without having what
I mark complete for one category affect another. I used to be able to copy
tasks from one category to another, but for some reason now it won't let me.

Sorry, then I don't understand what you mean with categories. You can copy
items the way I described it; and you can assign different categories to one
item, but then it's still the same one item.

I noticed the same behavior -- every irritating since what you described
worked fine in 2003. The only work-around I've discovered is to click on the
task folder, highlight the task item I want to copy, then Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V.
Then, I can change due dates, categories, etc. on the newly copied item while
keeping the original task item intact.

BTW, I've noticed that views I've defined for tasks don't seem to work when
I do this directly in the task folder rather than this virtual To-Do thingy.

It still works, just a bit different: In OL03 you could drag the item within
the folder view, now you have to drag it on to the folder in the folder
list.
