Suddenly "Calendar" appeared in my Mail Favorite Folder listing. I'm using
Outlook 2003 on a small laptop and screen real estate is precious. I don't
need this listing in the Favorites Folder. How can I get rid of it

Can you right-click it and choose "Remove from Favorite Folders"?

Dear Brian,

No, the only apparent choice when I right-click is "Remove from My
Calendars"--and of course I don't want to delete my calendar!

What would be the next thing to try?

Deleteing it from My Calendar won't delete the calendar itself.

The next thing to try is to start Outlook once with the /resetnavpane and also
try deleting the outcmd.dat file found in %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook.

Thanks, Brian. But I'm a newbie and I don't know how to "start Outlook once
with the /resetnavpane"--could you give me step by step instructions for
doing that? I'm sorry to be so lame, and grateful for your help.
