Try using port 597 and checking the box that your outgoing server requires
authentication.

Many thanks Frank for the reply,

I changed the port to 597 and still not sending, then I tried checking the
box that my outgoing server requires
authentication, but still nothing, this is the error message I got this
time....

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'testing', Account:
'imap.aol.com', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 597,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Many thanks, I just did a bit of searching on the AOL web site and found
that I needed to put in the outgoing mail port 587 and it worked, thanks
again, I'm now a happy bunny...

you need to change the outgoing mail (SMTP) port number to 587.
