I have 5 email accounts, using three different SMTP addresses. Two SMTP addresses are through a local ISP which hosts a few websites and the third is Comcast. All have worked without a problem for several months.
I am not sure what account type means, but I am using Outlook 2003 (11.8206.8202) SP3.
My computer is XP Pro. My wife’s computer is Vista Premium. She is having the exact same problem with two SMTP addresses.
I have deleted the last Outlook update of June 11.
I have unplugged the Linksys N Router and gone through the restarting session. We both use the router but are not set up as a sharing network.
I do not have SSL checked in Outlook.
I do not log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
My outgoing server (SMTP) does not require authentication.
Incoming server (POP3) uses 110 Server Port
Outgoing Server (SMTP) uses 25 Server Port.
Test Account Settings error messages:
Send test e-mail message: The specified server was found; but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct. To access these settings, close this dialog, then click More Setting and click on the Advanced tab.
Find outgoing mail server (SMTP): Outlook could not connect to the outgoing mail server (SMTP). The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSL. Verify your port and SSL settings in More Settings under the Advanced tabs.
Is this enough for you to help figure out what the heck is going wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
