I have been having problems sending emails from 2003. Emails remain in the
outbox, but error messages come up stating that connections can't be made.
Here are the errors I got- task'pop-server.wi.rr.com - sending' reported
error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the
sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your
server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). and (0x80042109)
unable to connect. I checked with the ISP and the incoming and outgoing
server addresses are correct. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Disable your virus scanner's integration with Outlook and try again.

I tried this today and it didn't seem to help. More often than not the
error seems to be the second one (0x80042109).
