I have a new desktop running Vista Home Premium. I configured the computer
for our wireless network and correctly configured our Charter high-speed
internet and e-mail service. Everythig worked fine. THEN I used Windows
Electronic Transfer to move the files and settings from my Windows XP
computer. Now I can receive but I cannot send e-mail out of windows mail. I
get this message:
The host 'SMPT.charter.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'test3', Account: 'pop.charter.net', Server: 'SMPT.charter.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number:
0x800CCC0D
Charter refuses to help-I have tried checking and unchecking
everything-HELP!!!

Change smPT.charter.net to smTP.charter.net.
It helps me to remember the acronym Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.
