I have two harddisks installed into my computer. One is for the system
while the other one is for data. I have set the folder in the data disk to
one particular user. However, my system harddisk crashed. I need to
re-isntall the system. How can I read back all the data under this user
account?

John

No one knows what "crashed" means. If you post some details of the problem
then someone may be able to help you.

I meant my system harddisk was dead. I cannot start up anymore. But all my
data is stored in my data harddisk. All files in this harddisk to set to
have RWXD right for one user account. Can I install the Win2000 in a new
harddisk, and created this particular user and read all data in this data
harddisk?

Please help!

John

Probably. Assuming the disk is not "dead" as you say. If the hardware has
failed you might want to just box it up and send it to one of the drive
recovery services. Otherwise a parallel install or this link may help.
