If you reply to group then your answer is added to the newsgroup.
If you reply, then you e-mail the person, and the newsgroup remains the
same.
Postings can take several hours to appear so you'll have to wait for your
answers or questions to appear. If you want to keep an eye on your personal
questions, set them as watched (if using Outlook Express) to highlight them.
