can I put text beside a table

I thought I'd posted this before, but I can't find it.

Using Frontpage 2003.

I want to put different spacing/padding around just one cell and I can't see
a way to do it, so I decided to simply nest a table in a larger table.
However, I can't put text to the left or right of that table. Is there a
way to work around this. Doing it this way would allow me to achieve the
"frame" look I'm after for that cell, but I can't seem to force the text to
display along side of that table.

Any thoughts. I've run out of ideas.
Thanks. Diana

Select the table, then table properties, then set the Float to right or left.

Thomas,
I got the table to align right, but no amount of typing will will stay on
its left. When the cursor is flashing on its left (and I type), the text
displays above or below but not beside. Is there something else I'm
missing? Thanks for your time.

Try putting the text and the table into adjacent cells of an outer two-cell
table.

Sounds like a good idea ... I'll give that a try.
But just to be sure I'm on the same page. I'll create a two cell table row,
add my text to the left, then nest the single cell table into the right
cell, applying the frame/border look that I want. That should do it!
Thanks Murray

Yep. There are better ways, of course, but this one is simple.

Well, that did the trick for now. At least I can now do it. Thanks so
much. It was easy actually ... I just hadn't thought of that or taken it
that far.

What's the other way ... can you at least alude to it.

As Thomas said select the table properties and use "Float" not alignment.

Looks like you have your answer. 8)

Not using tables at all is a good way, too.

<div style="width:450px; float:left">Your content goes here</div>
<div style="width:150px; float:left">Your 'table' goes here</div>
