Thomas,
I got the table to align right, but no amount of typing will will stay on
its left. When the cursor is flashing on its left (and I type), the text
displays above or below but not beside. Is there something else I'm
missing? Thanks for your time.

Select the table, then table properties, then set the Float to right or
left.
