I really have no ideas here. As i mentioned I can ping this particular
server by name or ip, but when I try and open any share on it, I get a
not accesible error message.

This only happens with one particular server from a remote location
although there are other intermittent problems (such as not finding
user accounts on our exchange server)which may be related, but the only
consistant problem is this one server.

I can access any of the computers remotley, access the Internet,
transfer files... without a problem.

Ping times are acceptable, and a tracert does not show anything out of
the ordinary.

This site is connect to our main site via VPN tunnel over a DSL
connection.

My thought is that it maybe firewall related, but why would the same
traffic to a different server not experience the same problem?

Well, only u would know whether is FW related, by looking at its log
and if it's dropping anything that it shouldn't.

if u can ping by IP and name, it doesn't look like a network problem
then, I don't follow your logic. It looks more like an
administration/authority thing to me. Review those and check with the
Microsoft servers forum.

I think you are right, I will explore that option a bit more. I am not
sure what would have changed to potentialy cause any type of
administration issue, but that certainly would demystify things quite a
bit.
