How can I open private appointments on a shared calendar?

I inadvertenly added a private appointment to a shared calendar and not my
personal calendar. Now I cannot open the appointment or modify it in any way
even though I am listed as the "owner" in the calendar properties and
permissions settings. I want to delete this appointment. Do you have any
suggestions?

You may have to have the OWNER of the shared calendar remove it, or
ask your administrators to help.
