Whats this all about? The sleep function works fine... But only once in a
particular fresh boot, after the first sleep + wake up, it wont properly
sleep again until I restart the machine.

It does he usual series of events, light flashes, but when its supposed to
turn off the fans etc, it does a strange boot device startup cycle, as it
does when you restart the computer (e.g. HD noise, DVD drives flashing
checking for a disk).

Also, when it does sleep, the power light starts flashing 10 seconds before
the fans actually turn off, is this normal? Sorta strange compared to the old
standby function.

Anyone having this problem? Why would it work only once consistantly?

I've updated graphics drivers, latest bios (hasnt been updated for vista yet
though), tried disabling keyboard and mouse 'let this device wake computer'
options.

Cheers.

Haven't seen that, but mine used to sleep fine until I updated the BIOS 2
days ago. Now it won't sleep at all. It tries, but then it wakes back
up.

Silly Vista.

Thanx for that....

FYI, I may have just fixed mine.

I also messed around with Media Center the other day, and set everything to
use my Xbox360 as an extender so we can play movies and such on the 50 inch
TV.

Seems my PC was only going into Away Mode now, so I just changed the power
settings to "allow sleep mode" on the media center part, and now it sleeps
OK again...
