Some time ago I created a number of AVI files, which were edited and rendered
fully in movie maker. At that time I could play them in Media player with no
problem.
Since then, I have tried to play the files in media player, all of which are
AVI's, but get a message that the codec is not installed. The code for the
codec is given simply as "1", which does not seem to exist. (I've also tried
0001).
All the movie maker videos were rendered as DV-AVI files, and I have found
that if I re-render them using a 'High Quality PAL' output, the sound returns.
I have tried G-Spot on the files which cannot ID the codec used, but they
still play in movie maker, not media player, winamp, nero media player.
I am still running v2 of movie maker and am holding off upgrading in case I
lose sound altogether when I upgrade.
Any suggestions....!!?!
