i did a search on my computer and found the repair tool and ran it but it did
not help. I dont know what to do and have 6 years of information in outlook.
Is there any way to fix this problem or do you have any suggestions?

Backup your pst-file and then use Control Panel-> Mail to create a new
pst-file and set it as the default delivery location. Disconnect your
original pst-file and restart Outlook. Does Outlook load now?

>>have 6 years of information in outlook

What is the size of this pst-file? If it is in the old ANSI format it cannot
grow beyond 2GB.

when you have corrupted files, you can try a popular Outlook recovery tool called Advanced Outlook Repair to repair your PST file. It is a powerful tool to recover messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft Outlook PST files.

Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe
