I can not set up my email right

I got a new laptop and I am confused on POP3 and IMAP things. I am a windows
live customer already and can someone please tell me how to do this?

How do you want to get your email?

You can use the newer Windows Live Mail to access your http Live/Hotmail
accounts like you may have in OE...

or, you can use Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail to access POP3 or IMAP
accounts.
MS recently added POP3 access to Hotmail/Live accounts from most countries.

What type of mail account do you want to set up? A Hotmail one, a Gmail one,
or an account from your ISP?
