This is the error I get. Previously I could send email - now I can't.
Nothing had changed such as provider, etc.
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'withdrawal', Account:
'mail.comcast.net (1)', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Note that the outgoing server now requires port 587 rather than port 25.
Also, "My server requires authentication" must be checked

Contact Comcast for the new, correct settings.

Try the "secret" Comcast port 587 setting...

follow the last steps... starting with 10.

Hello, was there an update notification that went out about this change? I
have been extremely frustrated in trying to find out why all of a sudden I
can receive emails, but can not send. This post was very helpful, but would
have liked to know prior to the change.

See the link for all the account settings:
http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ...s.ashx?Id=2288
At the top of the article, there is a 'live' link and phone # of comcast.
Find out yourself.

Like most cable companies, Comcast is very poor about supporting
the Internet side of their business.
