This problem is happening on and off about every couple of weeks. My cable
provider has done all their checks and they are saying it is VISTA.

Can you help?

here is the error message:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Re: Ski trip', Account: 'mail.comast.net', Server:
'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:

"Unexpected" termination is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

Is it an upgrade? I go back and forth with Live and Vista Mail and can't
find a feature in Live that keeps me. I am not knocked out by the interface,
that's for sure. I guess having my hotmail accounts is somewhat a plus.

You can access free .live and free .hotmail accounts in WM too now. BTW also
in OE.
