Sounds like an encoding issue to me. Verify that the messages with the
mobile phone with proper encoding information in the message header. To
manually overrule encoding information you can open the message and use
Other-> Actions-> Encoding
However, often the character information has been lost already so it will
have little effect.
Does the message display correctly when you look at it via your web based
inbox?
If it is correct there, it could be that the message got corrupted by a mail
scanning tool that you might have installed. Disable this integration and
request them to resend the message.
