Can not open outlook pro 2003. No error message. Using xp pro sp2

I could use some help. I can not open outlook. When I first boot up I can,
but after awhile I can not open it. I can double-click on the icon all day
with no response. I am running microsoft outlook pro 2003 and my pc is xp pro
w/ sp2. I use symantec and zone alarms for pc protection, but security is
turned way down. does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it? I have
already done detect and repair by the way with out any luck.
