Can not open .doc attachments

's Computer Specifications

I am unable to open .doc attachments. The attachments are visible but when
you attempt open them nothing happens when you click on the link.

And if you save them to the desktop, do they open then?

Click on the message, go to File - Save Attachments?

What options do you get on a right click?
