I am having trouble opening an attachment when the attachment is an email. I
am able to open attachments that are pictures, MS Word...etc Any suggestion?

Are these attachments in .msg format? Are you using Outlook 2003? If so, do
you have Google Desktop installed? Google Desktop would be the culprit,
uninstall it and you should be fine. If that is not the case, pleas post
further details.

Google Desktop Search is the usual culprit. COnfigure it to not index mail.

sorry folks - didn't mean to post a blank email.

here's the question:
i'm having the same problem, but have been using google desktop for months
and months without a problem, until today. i'm reluctant to uninstall as i
use the search function quite a bit (as outlook's internal search function
isn't very good).

do i have other options?

See if the most recent version of GDS will work.
