I have a message saying that Outlook will not start and the outlook window is
unable to open, neither can the set of folders(??) and the server is
unavailable. I have tried to repair by use of my office disc but that does
not work

You didn't post any info for us to work with. Sounds like you've configured
Outlook to be used an Exchange server.

Sorry there is not much more to say apart from I click on the outlook icon
and the message below apears. The only thing I have done recently is install
the trial version of office 2007, which now I have deleted off but doing this
has done nothing. My machine wont let me do a system restore for some strange
reason so the only alternative left is to save outlook as a .pst file and put
the recovery disc in and start again.

It would help if you told us with what mail account you want to configure
Outlook. As I said, right now it sounds like you've configured it with an
Exchange account while you don't use it at all.Recreate your mail profile
with the proper configuration information for your account type and try
again.
