i can not make or save entry into outlook

outlook xp-I can not make an entry or save an entry in outlook. I get a
message that there is a corrupt file and I should run inbox repair, however I
can not find the corrupt file when I try to run inbox repair. I have also
received a message that there is a open dilog file but I don't know where it
is or how to close it. i am able to move entries that are in my calendar to
different days however I can not make new entries and there are five entries
that are past due and I can not delete them.
