When I try to install the FAX from the "ADD/Remove Windows Components" in the
“Control Panel”, it does not work.
It asks me to insert the Service Pack 2 CD, and than it asks for a certain
file in the i386 folder. I have the most updated Service Pack 2 CD from
Microsoft but it does not work.
I would appreciate ideas to fix it.

Try inserting your XP CD.

Read the answers to the FAQ at the link I posted earlier in response to
your first question. You don't need to keep posting the same requests
over and over.

The fax install files are: (a) on the Windows XP CD (the full install
CD, not the CD used to update to Service Pack 2); or (b) on your hard
drive in the %WINDIR%\i386 folder; or (c) on your hard drive in the
%WINDIR%\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder. They may be compressed (e.g.,
fxscfgwz.dl_ instead of fxscfgwz.dll).

I believe that you will need a Windows XP CD with SP2. For example a
Slipstreamed to SP2 or a Windows XP CD with SP2. Neither XP Gold
nor XP SP1 are truly supported. ie No updates.
