Long story short, I reduced the only account I originally created, which was
the admin account, to a regular user account. I then had to go into safe
mode to restore this account back to administrator. Now when I try to run an
app, UAC prompts me to provide admin password only there isn't a field
provided for me to input the password. This happens when using the regular
user account and the admin account I had to originally promote back to
administrator. Do anyone have insight as to what might be going on

Can you describe the dialog you are seeing?

Hi. I had this problem to when I did a similar thing. Try removing the
password from the admin user. Does this help? And make sure your admin
account has full administrative rights and is not a privileged user.

I ended up having to uninstall Vista and install XP due to compatibility
issues with a legacy app. At this point, I no longer have the pc and
wouldn't be able to try any suggestions.
In case it happens again though, are you saying popupkiller, to remove the
hidden admin account pw or the regular admin account pw?
What is happening is when I try to run or download programs, I get a UAC
popup asking to provide admin pw only there isn't any place for me to type in
the admin pw. There isn't a field or box for me to type in the pw. This
happens whether or not I was using the admin acct I created or the limited
account.
