I have tried various backup programs, like Nero and XP home's send to
command, and they all crash. Some wildy, stating runtime errors. Anyone got
suggestions on what might be wrong? I am guessing that a service that I
disabled might be the culprit.

A full description of your backup needs might be helpful.

Hi ComputerKiller... rather descriptive name there. heh

Which service was it you disabled via Services.msc? I have Nero so it
probably won't be a problem, helping you get it reset... if I can find out
what service it was. If it is your IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service Set it to
run automatic, and leave its state as stopped. And Reboot.

I can not believe I stopped that service. Oh well when in doubt blame
Microsoft. Nero seems to be running correctly, so when I wake up I will
know.

Thank you,
Dennis
