I just backed up my hard drive and restore it in a new hard drive. I can not
boot. When I try to boot I can see the window XP screen with the big logo,
but the computer will go back to the black booting screen and then I can see
the Window XP logo Screen back again in some kind of a loop.

Thanks.

When you moved to the new disk, Windows got confused about
its system drive letter. Rather than booting off drive C: it is now
booting off drive D: or E:. This causes the looping phenomenon
you observe. You must now set the system drive letter back to C:.

The fix depends on your setup:
- Is the old disk still operative?
- Ist the machine networked?
- Do you have access to another WinXP/2000 PC?
