I have purchased 3 mobile broadband. When I use this ISP I cannot send emails
from outlook but can receive. I get the following error message - "Sending
and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC67) : 'Unknown Error 0x800CCC67'

I have contacted the ISPs and they say it is nothing to do with them. Can
any one help with this error code and how to resolve the problem?

Enable authentication for the SMTP server or use the SMTP server of the
mobile ISP.

Do not summarize an error message. Do not paraphrase an error message.
Do not truncate an error message. Show the error message in its
entirety (although you may want to munge out your username). Copy and
paste the error message or transcribe it verbatim.

The error message in total is:

Task 'Marianettes - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC67) :
'Unknown Error 0x800CCC67'

i.e. as I typed it minus "Task 'Marianettes" which will have no effect on
the error itself. Thanks

Apparently your unidentified version of Outlook sucks at presenting
useful error information. In OL2002, the account name, username,
server name, port number, SSL enabled or not, and other info is
presented in the error message.

http://support.microsoft.com//kb/238119 doesn't list that error code.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514/en-us mentions that error code
and some possible causes of the problem. Can you even reach the server
on the configured port? Run the following command in a DOS shell:

telnet <servername> <port>

See if 'telnet' can find your server. If it can, see if a mail session
gets established. You won't be using this mail session (just enter
'quit' or exit the console window for the DOS shell) but just see if
you even can start a mail session with that host. Usually when the
mail session starts, you will get a welcome line, like "220 <sometext>
ready" but not all servers show a welcome line, especially if you
connect using SSL.
