I can no longer customize toolbar. Why?

HP installed something. I restarted my computer. Nothing at the top of
my email screen looks the same. I only have one tab - message. I does
not contain the same information it use to. I cannot customize my toolbar -
all the buttons (add/remove, etc.) are whited out. I can no longer print
my emails, or even copy them so I can past them somewhere else to print
them. I cannot phathom what happened. PLEASE HELP!
