Hi --

My new desktop has Vista Ultimate 32bit. For all the years that I have had
the Westell 2200 modem, I have been able to access Expert mode to do port
forwarding. Now when I click on Expert mode, I get the confirmation but
then none of the options such as Configure, NAT, etc. appear at the left.
How can I get this back?

Thanks.

Zan

Hi
Your West ell 2200 Modem is actually a Combo Modem/Router.
If you can log to the device and get its menus but only Expert mode does not
work it might be some problem with the device's firmware.
May be a new firmware, or a hard reset of the current one might help.
Read the device's manual to find how.

I'll venture a guess. My Westell 2100 modem displayed similar symptoms when
I upgraded versions of IE. Could get in but certain functions wouldn't work
like the switch to expert mode, for example. I discovered that the way they
programmed the modem's internal web server is simply not compatible with
the changed browser. There seems to be no firmware upgrade for my model
although yours, being newer, might be more fortunate. I get along by
keeping an old W2K computer operating as a server with an old IE version on
it in my basement and when the modem needs tweaked I do it through the server.

For the moment, the issue is resolved. I downloaded Firefox and through
that can access everything that I formerly could through Internet Explorer.

Thanks, gentlemen.

Regards,
Zan
