I think you need to lay off the Prozac and pick up a dictionary.

Well, to download Knoppix, you'll first learn some better English.

http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html

This distro is a good way to check whether you can handle Linux at all.
Download the image, burn it to a cdrom, pop it into the drive, start
the computer from this drive, and see how you can get to terms with it.

Knoppix uses the KDE interface. There is another one, Gnome; and you
can switch to the latter if you like (and have your memory used up even
more . Play around with it for a while, and check it out. It is all
free.

Knoppix is based on Debian. There are other branches, like the SuSE
distritbution, and (formerly) RedHat, that mutated into -

Ah, Information. A property, too valuable these days, to give it away,
just so, at no cost.

If you can run XP your hardware is good enough to handle any current
distro. You might want to try Mepis, which aims to be accessible to
newbies while still being a good all-around distro; it is Debian based.

http://www.mepis.org/

It is also a live CD. Meaning that you can download it and burn it to CD,
then run it from the CD without installing it. If it plays well with your
hardware, and you like it, you can go ahead and install it to your
hard drive. Someone else recommended Knoppix, which is just as good, but
not really designed to be installed.

However, I really think you should stick with XP, especially if you play a
lot of games.
