Was told this computer had fax capability - but can't figure out how to get
it to actually answer the phone and recieve a fax. I have nothing attatched
except a printer/scanner - it's an acer aspire with windows xp - anyone know
about such things?

If your computer has an analog fax modem on the Windows XP Hardware
Compatibility List, you can use the fax program supplied with Windows XP:

In addition to Russ' response, you cannot Fax if you are on Cable
or DSL unless you use a 3rd party service like eFax.com.
