Can the MTU size cause disconnections???

We have a Win2K SP4 Terminal Server that runs fine until we connect it to
the internet. When connected to the internet, very often the connection to
the internet clients is lost causing session to disconnect.

But not only the session of the user on the internet but all sessions on
both LAN and internet are disconnected at once.

For testing I removed the firewall and set the Cisco 828 to transparent mode
(no NAT/PAT/Filtering). Still the problem exists.

I was thinking about changing the MTU size to see if this might help solving
this problem. But how do I change the MTU size on the Win2K server from 1500
to e.g. 1400???
