Is there a way to setup a manager to have access to his employess contact
management database. For instance, Company XYZ has 4 sales team members and 1
manager. The manager would like to keep tabs on each of his team members
contacts to ensure that follow up appointments are being made. There is also
a need so that if a member of the sales teams leaves, the manager can
immediately move the contact(s) to other members of the sales team.

Sean,

What you may be describing are more fully featured workflow process functions
available in a more complete CRM application toolset. BCM is a more
rudimentary relational Contact manager that does not currently have a lot of
Sales Automation built in to it. If "monitoring" is all you need to do then
BCM is fine. "Keeping tabs" as you describe means different things to
different people. For some this involves extensive, customizable display
dashboards to monitor key performance metrics. To others it simply means
scrolling through and viewing business history records. Post more precise
detail about what you are trying to do so that others may offer suggestions.

Additional comment:

It just ocurred to me that perhaps your question relates more to seeking
hardware configuration advice rather than workflow options. Are you
currently using a shared server environment in your organization?

Basically the manager wants "God Like" access. The manager wants to be able
to connect to each individual databse that each of his team members use. This
gives him a "global" view of what they are working on. This also provides him
with the oppurtunity to dictate which contact, perhaps should be dealt with
in a higher presidence manner. The key here is that Managers want to see all,
but team members should only be allowed to see their own.

Each user can share their database and make the manager a shared user.

The manager then creates a Mail profile (use Mail applet in control
panel) for each user (and no email in that profile). When Outlook
starts with the new profile, the manager will get the first use screen
and connect that profile to a user's shared database. Tha manager will
then have access to that user's BCM database.
