Can I make shortcut on desktop so Outlook opens to Contacts page? I need to
know if this is even possible and, if it is, how to do it. I have Outlook
2007 and Windows XP. Thanks in advance to whomever may be able to help.

Create a shortcut that contains:

outlook.exe /select outlook:contacts

You can also set what folder Outlook starts in by selecting Tools > Options
> Other tab > Advanced options button and then use the option right at the

top of the dialog

Thanks, Neo, but that makes me ask further questions. I don't necessarily
want Outlook to always open to Contacts. If I can make a separate shortcut
on my desktop to open to contacts for when I quickly want to do that without
going through the whole opening process, that would be nice. If your first
option for creating a shortcut is telling me that, can you please be more
specific? HOW do I create that shortcut - as in "steps". Your help is very
much appreciated. Thanks.

* Right click on the desktop and select New > Shortcut
* Type: "c:\program files\microsoft office\office11\outlook.exe" /select
outlook:contacts
* Next button
* Change OUTLOOK.EXE to Microsoft Outlook Contacts if you desire
* Finish button
