Is there a way to lock the registry so that none of the values can be changed? Or at least let me know what is being changed by whom? I have certain things configured (like screensavers, etc) that I don't want anything or anyone changing without my knowledge. My thought was to secure the registry so that nothing can change it without my knowledge.

I have exported a copy of my current registry so if something does happen to change it, I can just import this copy, correct?

Thanks,
BW

There is software that will monitor the registry and tell you of change
attempts. Check Google.

Beyond that, you cannot and should not prevent registry changes as it will
be constantly changing as programs are added/removed/etc.

If you want to protect only certain reg values and not the entire registry,
try setting permissions on reg keys.
Note: perms can be set for keys not values.

Also beware - whatever the standard disclaimer is about messing with your
registry. It can be dangerous.
