I am using word 2000.

Can somebody help me to lock the cell in a table. I want to lock the cell
because of the user can't edit it.

Its look like this. In first column details will be like down. in second
column the user has to fill it. I would like to lock the first column is it
possible.

You could place continuous section breaks before and after the table, place
form field textboxes in the cells where you want the user to enter data and
then protect just the section containing the table for forms.

Hi soletyvenky,

Place form fields in all cells the user may edit, and protect your document
for form fields. This may be a bit of work, but it is by far the most elegant
solution.

Success,

What you are describing is a protected form. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to.
